How Often Should You Get a Facial? A Simple Guide

If you have ever wondered how often you should book a facial, you are not alone. Most clients ask us this within the first few visits. The honest answer is every 4 to 6 weeks for most people, but there is a little more to it. Here is everything you need to know.

The Short Answer

Most clients benefit from a facial every 4 to 6 weeks. This aligns with your skin's natural cell turnover cycle and gives you consistent results without overdoing it. View all our facial services on our service page.

Why 4 to 6 Weeks?

Your skin renews itself in cycles. Skin cells turn over roughly every 28 to 40 days, depending on your age and skin type. Booking a facial within this window means your treatments build on each other, supporting fresh, healthy skin every time.

Coming in too often does not give your skin time to fully benefit. Waiting too long means starting from scratch each time.

By Skin Type

Normal or combination skin. Every 4 to 6 weeks.

Dry or dehydrated skin. Every 4 weeks for consistent hydration support.

Oily or acne prone skin. Every 3 to 4 weeks for active treatment and clearing.

Sensitive skin. Every 6 weeks with gentle treatments customized to your skin.

Mature skin. Every 4 to 6 weeks with focus on hydration and supporting collagen

By Goal

Maintenance and prevention. Every 4 to 6 weeks. Keeps skin balanced and healthy long term.

Active concerns (breakouts, congestion, texture). Every 3 to 4 weeks until concerns improve, then move to maintenance schedule.

Special event prep. Book 5 to 7 days before your event for a healthy glow.

Just trying it out. Start with one appointment and see how your skin responds. We can recommend a schedule from there.

Signs You Are Due

If you have lost track of when you booked your last facial, look for these signs:

  • Skin feels dull or flat

  • More breakouts or congestion than usual

  • Makeup looking off or not sitting right

  • Skin feeling tight, dry, or rough

  • Loss of glow after a busy season

  • It has been over 6 weeks since your last visit

Can You Get a Facial Too Often?

Yes, especially with more active treatments. Too frequent facials can:

  • Cause irritation or sensitivity

  • Disrupt your skin barrier

  • Lead to over exfoliation

  • Cause unnecessary redness or breakouts

We always work within a healthy schedule and will tell you honestly if you do not need a service yet.

Building Long Term Skin Health

The clients who get the best results are the ones who commit to consistency. After 3 to 4 visits, your skin starts to noticeably change. Texture smooths out, tone evens, glow returns.
