What Is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliating treatment that uses a special tool to buff away the top layer of dead skin cells. The result is smoother, brighter, more even skin that absorbs your skincare products better. View all our facial services on our service page.

We offer it as an add-on to our Signature Facial. It takes only a few extra minutes and pairs beautifully with the rest of your treatment.

What It Does

Microdermabrasion targets the surface of your skin to:

  • Smooth rough texture

  • Brighten dull skin

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines

  • Help fade dark spots and uneven tone

  • Unclog congested pores

  • Improve product absorption

  • Give you that lit from within glow

Most clients see and feel the difference immediately. Skin looks fresher, smoother, and more radiant.

How It Works

During the treatment, we use a specialized tool that gently sweeps across your skin, removing the top layer of dead cells. The process is comfortable and feels like a soft suction.

After microdermabrasion, your skin is more receptive to serums, moisturizers, and treatments. This is why we always do it as part of a facial, not on its own. The follow up products do even more for your skin once the surface is exfoliated.

Who Microdermabrasion Is Great For

Microdermabrasion works for most skin types and is especially great for:

  • Dull or tired looking skin

  • Rough texture or uneven tone

  • Mild scarring or pigmentation

  • Congested or clogged pores

  • Fine lines on the surface

  • Pre-event skin prep for that fresh glow

Who Should Skip It

Microdermabrasion is not the right fit if you have:

  • Active acne breakouts (we may recommend other treatments first)

  • Rosacea or highly reactive skin

  • Open wounds or sunburned skin

  • Recent active skincare use (retinol, AHAs in last 48 hours)

  • Active eczema or skin conditions in the area

If you have concerns, we will recommend a different approach during your consultation.

Is There Downtime?

No downtime. You may be slightly pink right after, but it fades within a few hours. Most clients leave looking glowy and refreshed.

Some sensitivity to sunlight is normal for the first few days, so we always recommend daily SPF after microdermabrasion.

Pre-Care

To get the best results:

  • Avoid retinol, AHAs, and BHAs for 48 to 72 hours before

  • Avoid sun exposure or tanning for 1 week before

  • Skip waxing the area for 48 to 72 hours before

  • Come with clean, makeup free skin

Aftercare

To protect your fresh skin:

  • Use SPF daily, especially in the first week

  • Avoid retinol and active skincare for 48 hours

  • Skip the gym, sauna, and intense heat for 24 hours

  • Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer

  • Use a soft cleanser, no scrubs for 48 hours

How Often Should You Get It?

Most clients benefit from microdermabrasion every 4 to 6 weeks as part of their regular facial routine. More often is usually not needed and can cause sensitivity.

Microdermabrasion vs Other Exfoliation

Microdermabrasion offers a different result than chemical exfoliation. It is physical, controlled, and immediate. For a complete look at our treatment options, read our How to Choose the Right Facial for Your Skin Concerns post.

Pairing With Other Treatments

Microdermabrasion pairs well with:

  • Signature Facial (where it is offered as an add-on)

  • High Frequency add-on for acne or breakouts

  • Hydrating mask treatments

  • Lip Mask for full face care

Pregnancy and Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is generally safe during pregnancy. Hormonal changes may affect sensitivity, so we adjust pressure and approach as needed.
