Here is what actually happens. First, we clean off your lashes so we are working with a fresh slate. Then we place a soft silicone pad on your eyelid and lift your natural lashes up onto it. That pad is what shapes the curl. Finally, we apply the solution.

Now, "solution" can sound a little scary, so let us clear that up: it does not break down your lashes. It gently perms your lashes into the curl of the rod, the same idea as a perm for the hair on your head. Why Some Lashes Look Curlier Than Others

Here is a little insider truth so nothing surprises you. Your lashes grow on a natural cycle: old ones shed, new ones grow in. So around the four to six week mark, some of the lashes that were too short to perm during your appointment have now grown out. Since those lashes were never permed, they will look straight next to your still curled ones.
