The Best Aftercare Tips for Long Lasting Lash Lift Results

Getting a lash lift is just step one. How you care for them in the days and weeks after is what makes the difference between a lift that lasts a full 6 weeks and one that fades early. Here are our best aftercare tips to keep your lashes looking beautiful as long as possible.

First visit at The Beauty Room and Co beauty studio in Round Rock Texas

The Critical First 24 Hours

The first 24 hours after your lift is when the keratin treatment fully sets. To protect your results:

  • Avoid water and steam (no showers, hot tubs, saunas, or hot yoga)

  • Skip eye makeup completely

  • Do not rub or touch your lashes

  • Sleep on your back if possible

  • Avoid sweating heavily

This window is when your lift is most vulnerable. Treat your lashes gently and they will reward you with a longer lasting result.

After 24 Hours

You are mostly back to normal. You can wash your face, apply mascara, and go about your routine. But a few habits will help your lift last even longer. View all our lash services on our service page.

Daily Habits That Help

Use a gentle cleanser. Avoid oil based cleansers and makeup removers. Oil breaks down the keratin bond and causes the lift to fade faster.

Be gentle with your eyes. Skip eye rubbing, even when removing makeup. Use a soft cotton pad and a gentle micellar water if you need to clean the eye area.

Skip waterproof mascara. Regular mascara is fine. Waterproof formulas are harder to remove and require oil based removers, which break down your lift.

Try sleeping on your back. Sleeping face down crushes your lashes against the pillow and can make them lose their curl faster.

Use a lash conditioner. A daily lash serum like GrandeLASH-MD or GrandeREPAIR keeps your lashes strong and healthy. Healthier lashes hold the lift better.

Products We Recommend

A few things make your lift last longer or fade faster:

We carry a few favorites at the studio:

GrandeLASH-MD. A daily serum applied to the upper lash line that promotes longer, thicker, healthier looking lashes over time. Most clients see a difference in 4 to 6 weeks.

GrandeREPAIR. A leave in lash conditioner that strengthens and softens your lashes. Perfect for after a lash lift. Apply daily under mascara or alone overnight.

GrandeMASCARA. A conditioning peptide mascara that adds length and volume without clumping or flaking. Great for the days you want extra definition.

All of our retail products are at the studio. View our service page for current pricing and availability.

Things to Avoid

A few habits that will shorten the life of your lift:

  • Oil based skincare around the eye area

  • Waterproof mascara

  • Lash curlers (you do not need one anyway)

  • Sleeping face down

  • Rubbing your eyes when tired or applying skincare

  • Hot saunas and steam rooms in the first 24 hours

The 6 Week Mark

By 6 weeks, your lift has mostly grown out. You may have a few stubborn lashes that are still curled, but overall your lashes are back to their natural shape. This is the latest you would want to wait before rebooking.

When to Rebook

Most clients rebook every 4 to 6 weeks for consistent results. For a full breakdown of the timeline, read our How Long Does a Lash Lift Really Last post.
