A brow wax gives you instantly polished brows, but the next 24 to 48 hours matter for protecting your skin and getting the most out of your service. Here is exactly what to do and what to avoid.

The First 24 Hours
This is the most important window. Your skin is freshly cleaned and slightly more sensitive after waxing. To keep things calm and avoid irritation, follow these rules. View all our brow services on our service page.
Do
Apply a gentle, fragrance free moisturizer if your skin feels tight
Use SPF when going outside
Be gentle when cleansing your face
Let your skin breathe
Avoid
Hot showers or saunas
Heavy sweat from workouts
Active skincare ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C)
Heavy makeup over the brow area
Touching or rubbing the area
Sun exposure (even quick errands)
Exfoliating products
Hot tubs, pools, or beaches
Days Two Through Three
After 24 hours, your skin is mostly back to normal. You can:
Resume your normal skincare routine
Apply makeup over the brow area
Workout and sweat normally
Use heat (showers, saunas)
Still avoid heavy exfoliation directly on the brow area for the first 48 hours.
Long Term Maintenance
Once your skin has fully calmed, focus on keeping your brows looking great between appointments. For a deeper look at routines, read our How Often Should You Get Your Brows Waxed post.
Daily Brow Care
Brush them daily. Use a clean spoolie to brush your brows up and into shape every morning.
Use a brow serum. Products like GrandeBROW support healthier, fuller looking brows over time. Apply nightly for best results.
Skip the tweezers. We know it is tempting, but DIY tweezing is the fastest way to ruin a great shape. Trust the process.
Use SPF on your face. Sun damage causes brow hair to thin over time. Protect them like you protect your skin.
What If You Have Sensitive Skin?
Some clients have skin that stays slightly pink for a few hours after a wax. This is normal. To minimize redness:
Apply a cold compress for 5 to 10 minutes after your appointment
Use aloe vera gel or a soothing balm
Skip alcohol that day (it can increase redness)
Stay cool and avoid heat for the first few hours
If you have very sensitive skin or react to wax, let us know before your appointment. We offer patch tests so we can find what works best for you.
Signs Something Is Off
Rare, but worth knowing. If you notice any of these, reach out:
Redness that lasts more than 24 hours
Swelling or bumps that persist
Burning or stinging that gets worse over time
Any sign of infection (rare)
These are unusual but we want to make sure you are taken care of.
Skincare Around Your Brow Wax
If you are also doing other skin treatments, plan ahead:
Retinol and AHAs. Pause 48 to 72 hours before and 24 hours after your brow wax.
Facials. Best to schedule on different days. If you have to combine, the facial should
come first.
Botox or filler. Wait 2 weeks after any injectables before waxing the brow area.
Chemical peels. Wait at least 1 week after a peel before waxing.
